About the Role:
Heffernan Utilities is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of a high-profile enabling works and multi-utility diversion scheme at Halifax Hospital.
This is a key role on a complex, live hospital environment project involving coordination of multiple utility interfaces including gas, water, electric, medical gas, fuel lines and telecoms.
You'll take full site ownership, ensuring safety, programme delivery, stakeholder communication, and quality standards are maintained throughout.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring works are delivered on time, safely, and to spec.
* Coordinate all aspects of the enabling works and utility diversions, including sub-contractors and direct labour.
* Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and site-specific hospital requirements.
* Liaise with hospital representatives, utility companies, and internal project teams.
* Maintain accurate site records, reporting progress, delays, and variations to the Project Manager.
* Lead site briefings, toolbox talks, and RAMS implementation.
* Proactively manage and mitigate risks on-site.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil/utilities projects – ideally in live or sensitive environments.
* Strong understanding of multi-utility diversion works (electric, gas, water, telecoms).
* SMSTS, CSCS (black or gold), and First Aid certification essential.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing site demands.
