Freelance Site Manager – Social Housing
Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire
Duration: Circa 3 months
We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a new build social housing project in Northallerton. The scheme is timber frame, therefore proven timber frame experience is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day management of site operations from timber frame erection through to completion stages
* Managing subcontractors and trades to programme and quality standards
* Ensuring health & safety compliance at all times
* Coordinating deliveries, materials, and site logistics
* Liaising with the client, timber frame manufacturer, and project team
* Maintaining site records, RAMS, progress reports, and snagging
Requirements
* Demonstrable experience as a Site Manager on timber frame new build projects
* Previous experience delivering social housing or residential developments
* Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and drive the project forward
