HR Manager – Life Sciences Manufacturing (IVD / MedTech)
Build the people strategy behind a scaling MedTech success story.
We are supporting a high-growth, Scotland-based life sciences manufacturing business as they appoint an HR Manager to join their senior leadership team.
This is not a maintenance HR role. It’s a build, shape and influence opportunity within a technically complex, purpose-driven organisation operating at the forefront of point-of-care diagnostics and IVD manufacturing.
You’ll work directly with the CEO and leadership team to create an environment that attracts, retains and develops high-performing talent—while ensuring the structure, rigour and compliance expected in a regulated setting.
Why this role stands out
* Leadership seat at the table – direct reporting line to CEO
* True ownership of people strategy across a scaling organisation
* Blend of strategic and hands-on delivery
* Opportunity to shape culture, performance, and organisational design
* Exposure to cutting-edge MedTech / diagnostics projects with global clients
The role
You will take full ownership of the HR function, driving both operational excellence and longer-term people strategy.
Key areas include:
* Leading all recruitment activity and managing external partners
* Owning onboarding and induction, ensuring a high-quality employee experience
* Managing and evolving employee benefits and reward frameworks
* Driving performance management, including annual review cycles
* Leading employee engagement and retention strategy, using data to inform decisions
* Designing and implementing training, leadership development, and coaching programmes
* Ensuring full compliance with UK employment law and HR best practice
* Acting as a trusted advisor to leadership on complex people matters
What we’re looking for
You’re an experienced HR leader who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
You will likely bring:
* Strong experience in an HR leadership or standalone HR Manager role
* Deep understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
* Proven ability to build and improve HR processes and frameworks
* Experience managing performance, engagement, and development programmes
* Confidence handling complex employee relations situations
* A hands-on, pragmatic approach with the ability to influence at senior level
Experience in regulated environments (e.g. MedTech, diagnostics, manufacturing) is highly advantageous.
The environment
This is a scaling organisation with strong technical foundations and a clear purpose—supporting the development and manufacture of technologies that improve healthcare outcomes.
The culture is:
* Collaborative and open
* Fast-moving and evolving
* Focused on continuous improvement and innovation
You’ll need to be adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in a business where priorities shift as growth accelerates.
