Overview
Prospero Teaching are looking for passionate and experienced Learning Mentors to support young people in the Bridport area. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering both part-time and full-time opportunities, with the chance to work with learners ranging from EYFS to Post-16.
You'll be supporting young people who have often been out of school for a prolonged period, helping them re-engage with education—primarily in Maths and English. Many of the learners have additional needs, so a compassionate and adaptable approach is essential.
Responsibilities
* Deliver tailored learning support in Maths and English
* Work 1:1 or in small groups across a range of age groups
* Build positive relationships to foster engagement and progress
* Support learners with SEN, SEMH, trauma, or those at risk of exclusion
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to learner development plans
About you
We welcome applications from professionals with at least 1 year of experience in UK schools in roles such as:
* Tutor
* Teacher
* Cover Supervisor
* Teaching Assistant
* ELSA
* 1:1 Support Worker
* Or similar educational roles
Experience working with learners with additional needs is essential.

Qualifications and eligibility
* Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
* Experience of working with learners with SEN
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
* Hold right to work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Provide references upon request
* Possess up-to-date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
