We’re looking for a dedicated and empathetic Learning Mentor to join a school in Lewisham, supporting students who need a little extra guidance with behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning. This flexible, day-to-day role offers the opportunity to transition into a full-time position, perfect for someone who thrives on making a real difference every day. You’ll work one-to-one and in small groups, helping students build confidence, resilience, and positive strategies for success. What You’ll Be Doing Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support self-esteem and positive behaviour. Help students develop strategies to manage emotions, stay focused, and make positive choices. Monitor progress, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records. Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure consistent support. Be a positive role model, showing patience, empathy, and reliability. About You Essential: Experience working with children or young people (in schools, youth work, or similar). Understanding of social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Excellent communication and de-escalation skills. Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain professional boundaries. Desirable: Qualifications in education, youth work, psychology, or related areas. Experience delivering behaviour or mentoring interventions.
