Head Cook – Churchdown Day Nursery
* Location: Churchdown, Gloucestershire
* Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
* Start date: Immediate
Churchdown Day Nursery is looking for a passionate and organised Head Cook to join our friendly team. This is a key role in ensuring that the children in our care enjoy healthy, balanced and freshly prepared meals every day.
Responsibilities:
Planning and preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children in line with dietary needs and allergies.
Maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Managing food stock, ordering supplies, and working within a set budget.
Creating varied and child-friendly menus.
Working closely with nursery staff to support children's health and well-being.
Requirements:
Previous experience in catering or as a cook (experience in childcare or education settings is desirable but not essential).
Knowledge of food hygiene and allergen management.
Ability to plan and deliver balanced meals for children.
A food hygiene certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Organised, reliable, and able to work independently.
