We are looking for a proactive and experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and security of the school premises. This is a vital role that helps ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. Beginning September 2025. Duties as a Site Manager: Oversee the maintenance, cleanliness, and security of the school buildings and grounds. Carry out and/or coordinate minor repairs, decorating, and general DIY. Supervise and manage contractors and cleaning staff on-site. Ensure all health & safety regulations and procedures are followed, including fire safety, risk assessments, and site compliance checks. Manage site access, including opening and locking up the school daily. Support with school events, furniture moves, and deliveries. Maintain records relating to maintenance, checks, and compliance. Ideal Site Manager: Previous experience in site or facilities management, ideally in a school or similar setting. Strong practical skills in maintenance and repair (DIY, plumbing, decorating, etc). A sound knowledge of health and safety legislation. The ability to manage time effectively and work independently as the Site Manager. Flexibility to respond to out-of-hours emergencies and occasional evening/weekend events. Good communication and IT skills, and a professional, reliable approach. Why Step Teachers?
