Band B - point 12 to 23 (£28,598-£34,434) 19.5 hours per week, pro rata.

We are seeking to appoint a pro‑active, self‑motivated and caring Learning Mentor to support pupils who experience difficulties in school; supporting those with social and emotional needs and/or special education needs to overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will form an integral part of our Inclusion team and build positive, constructive relationships with pupils within the school and their families. The post will also involve working with children in the classroom, supporting their learning and running learning interventions, under the direction of teaching staff.
Responsibilities
Support pupils who experience difficulties in school; support those with social or emotional needs and/or special educational needs to overcome barriers to learning; work within the inclusion team; build positive and constructive relationships; work with children in the classroom; support learning and run learning interventions under the direction of teaching staff.
Qualifications and Skills
* Qualifications to at least NVQ level 3 or equivalent, with GCSE (or equivalent) in both English and Maths
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Good team player
* Ability to build constructive rapport with pupils to enable them to engage successfully with learning
* Experience of working with pupils with special educational needs
* High levels of personal integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

The appointment will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, medical check and satisfactory references.
