Countryside Ranger - Be the Heart of Derbyshire’s Wild Spaces

We’re looking for a passionate and proactiveCountryside Rangerto join our team and help care for some of Derbyshire’s most beautiful and important countryside sites. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be out in the field - managing habitats, supporting volunteers, and helping visitors connect with nature.
You’ll work as part of a friendly and committed team, delivering conservation projects, improving biodiversity, and making sure our sites are safe, welcoming, and inspiring for everyone.
What makes this role special?
* You’ll help manage Local Wildlife Sites and Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs)
* You’ll lead and support volunteer groups in practical conservation work
* You’ll contribute to events, education, and visitor engagement
* You’ll be part of a team that’s passionate about protecting and enhancing Derbyshire’s natural and built heritage
We have several Ranger roles available, offering a fantastic opportunity to work across a variety of countryside locations in Derbyshire, including Shipley Country Park, Middleton Top, Elvaston Castle, the High Peak, and the eastern coalfields. These positions come with a mix of permanent and fixed-term contracts, and we welcome applications for both full-time and part-time roles - providing flexibility to suit different lifestyles and career goals.

* Is practical, innovative, reliable, and loves working outdoors in all weathers
