Countryside ranger job description

A Countryside Ranger, also known as a Park Ranger, is a professional responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and conservation of rural and urban parks, woodlands, forests, and other natural or green spaces. They balance the needs of the environment with ensuring the public can enjoy and learn from these spaces. Key tasks include habitat management, conducting guided walks, maintaining footpaths, and liaising with local communities, landowners, and conservation groups. Rangers may also deal with issues such as vandalism, litter, or wildfires. This role requires a passion for nature, excellent people skills, and a good level of physical fitness.
