Quality Manager - consumer-branded engineering tech
Salary £40,000 - £45,000 (subject to experience)

Core Responsibilities
Reporting to the Operations Director, the key responsibilities for the role include:
* Lead and drive improvements in all aspects of quality assurance through the organisation & supply base.
* Capture company processes and improve via internal auditing.
* Champion a continuous improvement culture.
* Improve product quality management and inspection standards in house and in the supply base.
* Monitor and report monthly on production and in service quality issues both internally and to suppliers.
* Champion root cause analysis of quality issues and drive the corrective and preventative action process with suppliers.
* Communicate and manage quality issues working closely with internal and external colleagues and customers.
* Manage Quarantine and stop/start of production due to quality issues.
* Lead the manage our ECR (Engineering Change Request) procedure.
* Support supplier selection process and ongoing supplier auditing and compliance.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge
Essential:
* Good commercial skills and the ability to navigate through customer and supplier cost control issues
* Passionate and tenacious on improving quality for the benefit of the business and customers
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a quality engineering management role.
* Experience in dealing with China suppliers.
* Driven quality improvement through organisations and suppliers.
* Degree, HNC or HND in engineering.
* Experience of electromechanical assembly, mechanical, electrical and software systems, and manual assembly processes.
* Able to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs and technical specifications.
* Proficient in quality analysis tools such as 8D, 5 Why, lean manufacturing etc.
* Strong problem-solving skills with ability to facilitate problem solving with production staff and suppliers.
* Experienced in developing supplier quality measures.
* Strong communicator organised with good time management.
* Computer literate – knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages.
Desirable:
* Led successful implementation of quality standard i.e. ISO 19001, TS 16949
* Qualified and experienced internal auditor
* Previous experience in low volume, high value consumer electronics, mechanical and electromechanically products
* A keen interest in golf
