About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs in one of our partner schools. This is a rewarding long-term role, ideal for individuals passionate about helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities
* Providing 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning difficulties).
* Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
* Helping create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.
* Using strategies such as visual aids, PECS, sensory breaks, and structured routines.
* Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
* Managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour techniques.
* Supporting personal care needs where required.
* Recording pupil progress and reporting to teaching staff and SENCO.
Requirements
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, care, residential, or similar).
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A patient, calm, and nurturing approach.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
* Willingness to follow individual EHCPs and adapt to pupil needs.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
