Role - Quality Manager
Work Type - Outside IR35 (Depending on IR35 determination)
Day Rate - £600pd
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager for our client, a major engineering EPC provider, to take full ownership of the Quality function across a major engineering and construction project. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring all QA/QC activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
You will lead the quality team (including subcontractors), drive best practice, and act as the focal point for all quality-related matters across manufacturing and site-based activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and coordinate all QA/QC activities across the project lifecycle
Develop and implement quality plans to ensure efficient delivery and protection of commercial interests
Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams, external stakeholders, and third-party inspectors on all quality matters
Ensure all QA/QC activities are clearly defined, measurable, and aligned with programme requirements
Drive a consistent and robust approach to quality through effective communication and leadership
Ensure all engineering and construction works comply with contractual specifications and quality standards
Oversee the preparation, control, and submission of all quality and test documentation within required timeframes
Promote a strong quality culture and represent the business professionally to stakeholders
Technical Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the library of qualified welding procedures
Oversee welder qualification records, including periodic review and renewal
Lead QA audit programmes, including internal, supplier, and third-party audits
Ensure inspection and test plans are implemented and adhered to
Manage the collation and handover of quality records and project documentation dossiers
Conduct internal management system audits and ensure effective close-out of actions
Support vendor and subcontractor quality assurance activities
Skills & Experience
Strong leadership and team management capability within a QA/QC environment
Proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple quality-related activities under tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong problem-solving capability with a proactive approach
Experience working within engineering, construction, or contracting environments
Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Qualifications
Relevant professional or vocational qualification in Quality, Engineering, or a related discipline
Extensive experience in quality management within engineering/construction projects
Demonstrable track record of delivering quality assurance across complex projects
Highly organised with the ability to work to demanding schedules
