We are looking for a skilled nursery cook to work 8-15 hours a week Monday 8-3 and flexible hours Tuesday to Friday, preparing nutritionally balanced and tasty meals for young children aged 0-4 years.The number of children to cater for each day is 35 preparing a two course lunch and light afternoon tea.The successful candidate must be able to multitask in a busy kitchen and have the relevant experience and skills in Food Hygiene and Health and Safety in the kitchen and be up to date on allergy awareness relating to food stuffs.
Responsibilities
* Preparing ingredients for meals and cooking to required standards
* Ensuring all equipment required is in place, clean and in good working order.
* Ensuring all food stuffs are stored correctly and stock is rotated.
* Ensuring the cleanliness is of a 5* standard
* Monitor stock and produce a weekly list of ingredients required
* Completing logs and daily paperwork for compliance.
* Ensuring allergy information is updated and adhered to in food preparation.
Skills
* Past experience as a cook
* Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods
* Ability to follow sanitation procedures
* Be a team player but have the ability to work on your own
* Good communicator
* Completion of level 2 Food Hygiene course
* Completion of Allergy training
* Enhanced DBS will be required at candidates expense as working with vulnerable group
