Hays Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Ormskirk area to recruit a Teacher of Food Technology for a long-term assignment starting in September 2026, continuing through to March 2027.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school that prides itself on its strong core values of being inclusive, aspirational, and kind, creating a supportive and positive learning environment for both students and staff.
The RoleYou will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, inspiring students to develop their culinary skills, creativity, and understanding of nutrition and food preparation.The school boasts excellent department facilities, allowing you to deliver high-quality, hands-on lessons in a well-resourced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
2. Teach across KS3 and KS4
3. Assess, monitor, and support student progress
4. Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom culture
5. Uphold the school’s ethos of aspiration, kindness, and inclusivity
Requirements
6. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification (ECT's wee to apply)
7. Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4
8. Strong classroom management skills and a passion for practical learning
9. Amitment to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment
