At our Carrum Family and Children’s Centre, our Centre Cooks are the kitchen heroes—keeping things running smoothly, whipping up deliciously balanced meals for little foodies, and making sure everything’s up to top-notch standards.
We have the following position available: 1 x Permanent part time Centre Cook working Monday - Friday, on a fortnightly rotational roster.
Week 1:
Monday to Friday 7am -1pm
Week 2:
Monday 7am - 1pm
Tuesday to Friday 9.30am - 3.30pm

The City of Kingston operates three Family and Children's Centres in Carrum, Edithvale and Parkdale with our Carrum Centre proudly holding an “Exceeding” rating under the National Quality Standard.

A bit about the role
The Centre Cook plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations of our kitchen spaces within our Carrum Family and Children’s Centre.
In this role you will:
* Cooking morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for approximately 110 children
* Provide personalised meals to support children with allergies, intolerances, cultural diversity and preferences
* Maintaining a high level of compliance in the kitchen space, adhering to a class one kitchen food safety program
* Ordering stock to support fortnightly rotational menus
* Collaborate with the greater kitchen team to create nutritional seasonal menus
* Maintain a high standard of cleaning in the kitchen space
* Provide flexibility in movement to support other kitchen teams on different sites
* Support educators in delivering cooking experiences for the children
Your Skills and Experience
As a passionate, caring and nurturing individual, you will have a strong passion for cooking and nutrition along with the following;
* Minimum Qualification:Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery
* Clearances: Current Employee Working with Children check or willing to obtain
* First Aid Certification: Level 2 First Aid, including Asthma & Anaphylaxis management and CPR or willing to obtain
