Job Title: Handyman (Short-Term Assignment – Beckton) * Location: Beckton, London * Duration: 3 days (Immediate Start) * Rate: £20.00 per hour * Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (9.5 hours paid daily) Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman for a short-term project on a busy construction site in Beckton. This role requires someone who is confident in carrying out a variety of site maintenance tasks with a high level of independence and professionalism. The ideal candidate will be equipped with their own battery-powered tools and have a proven track record of working safely and efficiently on similar projects. Key Duties and Responsibilities: * Securing Windows with Plywood: Measuring, cutting, and installing plywood sheets to cover and secure windows, ensuring they are firmly fixed and resistant to weather and potential intrusions. * Installing Heras Fencing: Assembling and erecting Heras fencing panels around designated site areas for security and safety purposes. This includes securing the panels to the ground using appropriate brackets and fixings. A site spanner will be provided, but applicants must be familiar with the proper method of installation. * General Site Repairs and Adjustments: Carrying out any additional minor maintenance tasks as instructed by the site manager, including tightening loose fixtures, adjusting existing fencing, or addressing basic carpentry needs. * Health and Safety Compliance: Following site safety procedures at all times, wearing appropriate PPE, and ensuring all work is carried out with due consideration to safety for yourself and others on site. * Tool Management and Use: Operating and maintaining your own set of battery-powered tools efficiently. This includes an impact screwdriver, skill saw, and standard hand tools required to carry out the tasks listed above. Candidate Requirements: * Valid CSCS card is essential (Blue card preferred; Green card accepted if supported by relevant experience and references). * Must have your own battery-powered tools, including: * Impact screwdriver * Skill saw * Standard hand tools for general maintenance tasks * Demonstrable experience in general site work, carpentry, or similar handyman roles on construction sites. * Able to provide recent, relevant references. * Strong attention to detail, good timekeeping, and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
