The Role We’re looking for a practical, resilient HR Manager to lead HR at our busy Forest Gate manufacturing site. We’re looking for someone who can shape culture, drive change and collaborate with our Site Lead to deliver on our people plans. This is a hands-on, operational HR leadership role where you’ll partner closely with the Site Lead and site senior leadership team. You’ll lead a small onsite HR team and work in partnership with the Regional HR function to deliver against the wider people strategy, as well as with the central Talent Acquisition team on our recruitment needs. You’ll provide strong ER guidance on complex matters, manage and develop union relationships, and ensure site performance is supported through effective people management and clear strategy. We’re looking for a forward-thinking, operational expert keen to develop into a more strategic thinker. Key Responsibilities; Partner with, coach and mentor managers to develop and improve people management capability. Partner with the senior management team to deliver on the local and central people objectives. Coach and guide on proposed restructures, organisation design and workforce planning, actively engaging and suggesting plans. Lead and manage the onsite HR team and HR budget. Act as the site’s ER escalation point, ensuring process is adhered to; supporting the management of complex disciplinary, grievance and capability cases as required. Support ACAS conciliation and tribunal preparation. Work directly with recognised Trade Unions and take a leading role in collective discussions. Ensure compliance with employment law and ethical auditing standards. Drive engagement and culture improvement initiatives. What We’re Looking For; Proven experience as a HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor in a manufacturing, logistics or industrial setting. Strong background in employee relations and unionised environments. A real people partner – You’ve got experience coaching stakeholders and driving change that makes a difference. CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience). Strong knowledge of UK employment law. Resilient, confident and comfortable operating in a challenging, fast paced environment.
