We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Biomedical Scientist Manager with experience of management in laboratory sciences to lead our Blood Sciences team in our laboratory at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Rhyl. Working as part of a 3 site directorate delivering 24/7 Blood Sciences Services you will lead service delivery, performance and development on our Central site whilst working closely with our East and West site managers, service leads, senior scientists and Quality & Governance team to continue our ongoing modernization and continuous service improvement. Main duties of the job The post holder will act as the Site Manager for all Blood Sciences Services delivered from the Ysbyty Glan Clwyd site. The post holder will also act as Blood Sciences Site for Ysbyty Glan Clwyd As a registered Biomedical Scientist, the post holder is responsible for the delivery and continued development of a comprehensive laboratory Blood Sciences / Transfusion service to meet the needs of the BCUHB clinical and patient population Working with the pathology management team, the post holder will initiate, implement and review strategic development and departmental policy. The post holder will exercise autonomy within professional boundaries and will be involved in setting priorities, initiating developments, managing training and overseeing quality within the laboratory Blood Sciences department. Liaison with other managers within the directorate and across the Health Board including Human Resources, Finance, Procurement and external agencies will be required to ensure service quality and effective service and team management to standards that meet UKAS ISO 15189 accreditation; BSQR and other best practice guidelines The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
