Could you be the positive influence a young person needs during their school day?
For some students, having the right support can completely change their experience of education.
We're working with a number of specialist schools across Basingstoke and the surrounding areas, looking for compassionate, patient, and resilient individuals to join them as Learning Mentors on both flexible and long‑term placements.
No previous school experience? That's absolutely fine.
You don't need to have worked in education before. What matters most is your ability to build trust, stay calm in challenging situations, and support young people who may need additional emotional or behavioural guidance.
We'll provide training, support, and practical school experience before you begin.
What The Role Involves
As a Learning Mentor, you'll work closely with students who may need extra support both inside and outside the classroom.
Your Responsibilities May Include
* Supporting students with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs
* Helping young people manage emotions and remain engaged in learning
* Building positive, consistent relationships with students
* Working alongside teachers, SEN teams, and pastoral staff
* Providing encouragement, structure, and reassurance throughout the school day
This is a rewarding role where your support can have a real and lasting impact on a student's confidence and progress.
