Job Title: Site Manager Structured Cabling (Permanent) – Location: London – Salary: Up to £50K – Contract Type: Permanent – Industry: Telecoms / Data Cabling / Fibre Optics – Working Hours: Full Time
Job Description: To manage all on-site structured cabling activities on a construction project, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure smooth delivery of all copper and fibre installations, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the day-to-day site operations for structured cabling installations.
* Run and coordinate multiple teams of engineers on-site.
* Attend client and contractor meetings as required.
* Manage permit control and toolbox talks.
* Conduct PPE inspections and daily task briefings.
* Deliver weekly Health & Safety site inspections.
* Extensive knowledge of copper & fibre installation systems.
* Competent in copper & fibre fault finding.
* Understanding of shielded cabling systems and proper earthing procedures.
* Create and manage patching schedules.
* Proficient in using Fluke test equipment and LinkWare Live.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Proven experience managing large-scale construction sites.
* Strong technical knowledge in structured cabling and fibre optics.
* SMSTS Certification (or equivalent) [Required].
* Manager-level ECS Card [Required].
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
* Professional, proactive, and confident in managing teams and client relationships.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills across multiple platforms.
* Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
