Lead our Fresh Meat Quality Assurance Team to excellence in food safety and quality.
The Role
Our new Quality Assurance Manager will play a pivotal role within the Malton site Technical team, overseeing all aspects of product quality and food safety. You will lead a team of QA operatives to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, internal quality benchmarks, and customer expectations. This is an onsite role, 5 days a week, offering the chance to drive continuous improvement across a fast‑paced, high‑performing meat production environment.
You will be part of an exciting phase at Malton, and your focus will be on embedding a robust QA system, developing your team, and ensuring our products consistently meet the highest standards.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day management and development of the QA team.
* Implementing and continuously improving QA systems to meet legal, customer, and internal standards.
* Collaborating with Production Management to drive and enhance good manufacturing practices.
* Ensuring all products are produced within agreed customer specifications.
* Conducting regular quality assurance audits and following up on corrective actions.
* Delivering training and communications to ensure all staff are aware of key quality and food safety requirements.
* Investigating non‑conformances, complaints, and implementing preventative measures.
* Preparing reports for senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience in quality assurance or technical management within food manufacturing, ideally meat processing.
* Track record of successfully managing and developing teams.
* Strong knowledge of regulatory and customer standards (FSA, BRCGS, HACCP).
* Experience with audits, compliance, and change management.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with production and cross‑functional teams.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
* Resilient, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.
