This has opened up an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team as a Senior Site Manager (Envelope Works).
Position Brief
As Senior Site Manager (Envelope Works) you will be responsible for managing all site activities to maintain the highest Health and Safety and Quality standards, delivery programme deadlines, manage installation Subcontractors and Suppliers, be the Client facing company representative on the project. You will regularly report to project management, company directors and our clients on progression of works, been fully aligned with industry health and safety standards and Gladious policies.
This role is very hands-on and, will involve collaboration with all members of the Gladious site team, in a range of different duties to meet project requirements. You will also work closely with client site management team through verbal and written communication, delivering to expectations and ensure project stays on target to meet all required quality standards and project deadlines.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage all our work packages on the project and ensure that completed works meet the standards and quality required.
· Closely follow project programmes and schedules, developing a clear understanding of processes.
· Carry out regular work inspections and submit reports to project management on a weekly basis.
· Maintain quality control systems, carry out regular QA checks and record findings in electronic system to provide “Golden Thread” of information.
· Implement corrective measures as needed to ensure Installations teams maintaining compliance and key responsibilities.
· Coordinate and lead site meetings to ensure team works together effectively to meet job requirements.
· Ensure health and safety regulations are always followed on site.
· Conduct on-site management of sub-contractors.
· Enforce on-site Health and Safety Management, completing on-site work permits.
· Ensure teamwork is completed in a timely manner.
· Report on project progress to senior managers and stakeholders, including photo evidence of this.
· Be able to interpret and understand technical drawings, ensuring work is set out and installed to the required standards to ensure sustainable long-term quality output.
· Day to day problem solving and dealing with any issues that arise. Ability to re-prioritise work as needed.
· Review and sign off on completed work after thorough inspections.
· Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression and timely delivery.
· Manage resource allocation to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
· Maintain accurate site documentation, including mandatory H&S documentation, RAMS, progress reports, QA records etc.
· Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional development among team members.
Key Skills
· Leadership Skills (Essential):
o Excellent leadership and team management skills to cover 3-5 Sub-Contractors.
· Technical Skills (Essential):
o Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and carry out regular detailed QA checks in line with design drawings.
o Clear understanding of health & safety regulations to ensure regulatory compliance and development of detailed risk assessments and safe systems of work.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including basic data analysis methods and using other computing and communication software.
o Clear understanding of construction programmes and scheduling of activities.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and friendly demeanour that can communicate well with people at all levels. Ability to type accurately and efficiently, conveying complex information clearly and concisely in different settings.
o Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills.
o Be collaborative and able to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
o High level of professionalism, presentation, and phone etiquette.
o Must be experienced in reading of drawings and have excellent attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy.
o Follow our current structure, keep records up to date, ability to work independently, multitasking when required.
o Methodical and organised.
o Work unsupervised and prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently.
o Proactive, Reliable & punctual.
o Be able to manage your own and your team’s time effectively to meet project deadlines under pressure.
Key Requirements
· Senior Site Manager Experience (at least 3 years of site management)
o Proven checkable experience as a Site Manager or Site Supervisor covering external facade envelope contracts on mid to large size residential projects in UK.
o Experienced in managing direct reports and Subcontractors.
· Practical Knowledge:
o Strong practical knowledge of UK made aluminium windows, curtain walling, rain screen cladding, external passive fire protection and architectural metalwork systems.
o Strong back ground in client or PC facing management role.
· Health and Safety Awareness:
o Good knowledge of UK Construction Health and Safety regulations particularly related to Manual Handling, Working at Height, Lifting Operations, and Leading-Edge working.
o Strong understanding of MWEP’s, Mast climbers, Glass manipulators.
o Relevant qualifications in construction management, Black CSCS Card or recognisable alternative.
o Mentally strong to be able to work under pressure of site environment.
o Mentally strong to be able to defend company interests on site.
· Nice to Have (Preferrable but not Required):
o Driver’s license.
