Site Manager – Residential Housing (Edinburgh / Scottish Borders)
Job Summary

We are growing our team. Our focus is on delivering quality homes and building strong working relationships. We seek experienced Site Managers to oversee day-to-day operations on residential housing sites in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders.
Successful candidates will ensure all construction activities are completed safely, to high quality standards, on time, and within budget. You will manage site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, liaise with external consultants, and be an integral part of the Whiteburn team.
You will be customer-facing and an ambassador for Whiteburn.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver quality homes that meet client expectations
* Plan and manage daily site activities per the programme and Health & Safety guidelines
* Supervise all site activities
* Coordinate with design team, local authorities as construction progresses
* Build strong relationships with supply chain, warranty providers, and authorities
* Proactively manage site progress and report to senior management
* Maintain accurate site records, including statutory documentation and inspections
* Ensure quality standards and reporting procedures are met
* Conduct subcontract pre-start meetings, record-keeping, and toolbox talks
* Implement and maintain Whiteburn Health & Safety policies in line with CDM Regulations 2015
* Manage timely ordering and delivery of materials, stock control, and coordinate with the commercial team
* Coordinate site logistics, including access, deliveries, and waste management
* Lead regular project meetings with sales and management teams
* Engage actively with clients during meetings, handovers, and aftercare, representing the Whiteburn construction team
Key Skills & Attributes
* Proven leadership with excellent communication skills
* Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
* Proficient in construction programming and sequencing
* Strong knowledge of Scottish Building Regulations and domestic warrant process
* Ability to manage multiple trades and resolve site issues effectively
* Skilled in risk assessment and Health & Safety management
* Ambitious with attention to detail
Qualifications & Requirements
* Minimum 10 years in site management on housing developments
* Proven track record
* High organizational skills
* Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and solve problems
* Attention to quality and detail
* SMSTS (Site Safety Qualifications)
* CSCS Black or Gold Card (Management Level)
* First Aid at Work certification
* Full UK driving license
* Commercial awareness
Package
Salary dependent on experience, plus income protection, private health insurance, and a dedicated training program.
