Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Catering Manager to oversee the planning, preparation, and delivery of catering services at our family‑run nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary knowledge, and a passion for providing healthy meals for children. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a dedicated team while ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Catering Manager will play a pivotal role in coordinating all aspects of catering operations, from menu development to staff supervision.
Responsibilities
* Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet organisational standards.
* Develop innovative menus tailored to dietary requirements, incorporating seasonal ingredients.
* Manage all aspects of food safety and hygiene in compliance with relevant regulations.
* Supervise the procurement of ingredients and supplies, maintaining budget control and cost efficiency.
* Ensure proper training of staff in food production and health & safety protocols.
* Maintain organisational records related to inventory, orders, and food hygiene standards.
Requirements
Proven experience in supervising or managing catering within a fast‑paced environment. Extensive culinary experience with skills in food preparation, cooking, and food presentation. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations. Demonstrable skills in menu planning, food production management, and customer service excellence. Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Hours of Work
9.30am‑5pm with a half an hour lunch break, Monday‑Friday, 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays and the Christmas holiday closure (nursery is closed from 23rd December – 1st January inclusive).
