Weare searching for a driven Head of People(Operations) who canleadthe People Agenda for a forward thinking constructionbusiness.You will develop and execute business strategies focused onemployee engagement organizational effectiveness workforce planningreward recognition DEI L&D and HRIS. This role sits as memberof the business units management team and has two direct reports.This role requires either a construction or aligned industrybackground.
Responsibilities:
* Actsas strategic business partner to the Exec leader and the leadershipteam to ensure that critical people issues are identified anddesigns and delivers plans to address.
* Ensuresthat people policies and approaches are effectively embedded in thebusiness eg DE&I Reward Learning etc while ensuring alignmentto business objectives.
* Leads change projectsand/or works closely with business to deliver key peopleinitiatives successfully into thebusiness.
* Drives employee engagementinitiatives through the business.
* Sourcesand/or creates and delivers L&D interventions to improvecapability.
* Drives internal communicationsacross the business unit working closely with the Head ofComms.
* Leads on talent and succession planningacross the business unit with a focus on closing identifiedcapability gaps and identifying development opportunities for keyemployees.
* Uses MI to proactively highlight andaddress issues within the business and obtains buyin frommanagement team to resolve.
* Manages andresolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effectivethorough and objectiveinvestigations.
* Maintains indepth knowledge oflegal requirements related to daytoday management of employeesreducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partnerswith the legal department asneeded/required.
* Provides daytoday performancemanagement guidance to line management (e.g. coaching counsellingcareer development disciplinary actions).
* Worksclosely with management and employees to improve work relationshipsbuild morale and increase productivity andretention.
* Provides HR policy guidance andinterpretation.
Experience:
* Youllhave a background in construction or other alignedindustries.
* Youll be used to managing a diverseworkload and prioritising and shaping activities to get things donein a meaningful and planful way.
* Youll be usedto working with leaders and managers at all levels of theorganisation knowing their time is precious and youre there to bethe expert on all things people.
* Youll be adeptat handlingpeople brilliantly. Youll need to flex your style foryour audience be a great listener cut to the heart of someonesproblem and be able to help craft the rightsolution
* Youll plan deliver and measure.Theywant to move forward so youll need to be able to figure out theright direction crack on and learn from what theydo so theykeepgetting better.
