We are currently recruiting for a Site Manager on behalf of our client for a major infrastructure project at London Gateway, a global leader in logistics and trade. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-profile development within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong civil engineering and groundworks experience, and preferably a background in industrial or logistics-related construction projects.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
*
Manage subcontractors and labour on site, ensuring quality and HSE standards are upheld.
*
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to drive progress and resolve on-site issues.
*
Maintain site records including daily diaries, progress reports, and health & safety documentation.
*
Monitor site logistics and ensure effective material management and delivery scheduling.
*
Attend and lead site meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
*
Report regularly to senior management on programme, progress, and risks.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering and groundworks packages.
*
Experience working on industrial projects (e.g. logistics parks, warehousing, ports, manufacturing facilities) is highly desirable.
*
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
*
SMSTS, CSCS (Black or White card), and First Aid certification.
*
Ability to lead site teams and manage multiple trades on a busy project.
*
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*
Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Desirable
*
Experience with port infrastructure, logistics hubs, or large-scale industrial developments.
*
Knowledge of international logistics clients.
