Here at Human Appeal, we have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Website Developer to join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. The role will be worked on a full-time schedule from the office or negotiable. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed-term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,050 - £37,950 per annum depending on experience.

As Junior Website Developer, the successful candidate will play an integral part of a growing team that supports and develops new features for the Human Appeal family of regional websites. Tasks include frontend and backend coding, guiding UX and wireframe designs, dev-ops, automation testing, content management support, and monthly admin/maintenance tasks. The goal is to keep the websites engaging, performant, and aligned with our mission to increase online revenue and donor engagement.

Key duties and responsibilities:
* Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code following QA guidelines
* Follow website release processes for deploying updates
* Support delivery of frontend and backend features to meet requirements
* Contribute to design and wireframing stages for new features
* Collaborate with developers to evolve the websites using the latest tools and methods
* Test new developments on UAT environments supporting Agile releases
* Assist with monthly performance, SEO, security, and accessibility testing
* Provide daily support for Human Appeal’s websites, prioritizing tickets within specified timeframes
* Maintain the Website Development Asana project management tool
* Support monthly SEO work in collaboration with the Communications Team
Ideal candidate profile:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, boot camp graduate, or self-taught with relevant experience
* Experience: At least 1 year of commercial work experience with a portfolio of projects
* Demonstrable front-end development skills
* Skills:
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite
* CMS support/development experience (preferably Umbraco)
* Strong HTML5/CSS (SASS) skills
* Experience in responsive design websites
* Knowledge of RESTful APIs (JSON, XML) is preferred
* Understanding of SEO best practices
* Experience with version control (GitHub, Bitbucket)
* Ability to deliver pixel-perfect front-end code based on UX wireframes
* Experience with back-end logic (C# or similar) is a plus
* Languages: Fluent English required; additional languages like Arabic or French are desirable
* Passionate about the international development sector
