Skilled Careers has just landed a new role in central Brighton. We are currently recruiting for an Envelope Manager / Facades Manager on a freelance basis to start mid-May 2025.

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Envelope Manager with a proven track record of delivering envelope systems for roofs (pitched and flat) and facades (brick-slips, curtain walling, render, traditional brickwork, fire protection, and temporary works). This residential project is built across three phased blocks, all within your remit.
Responsibilities
1. Working closely with the design team, understanding design detailing issues, and contributing to solutions as issues arise.
2. Providing input into the design and managing the installation of temporary works, including scaffolding, barriers & fall protection, and hoarding systems.
3. Coordinating and directing multiple key contractors.
4. Monitoring project progress and preparing regular reports for stakeholders.
5. Conducting site inspections to assess material conformance and compliance with design details, ensuring work aligns with Method Statements.
6. Ensuring fire segregation is installed in line with current fire regulations.
7. Chairing Daily Activity Briefings (DABs).
8. Chairing programme meetings with contractors to monitor progress against the programme.
9. Recording and managing Quality Assurance documentation.
10. Reading and interpreting design drawings and specifications.
11. Managing health & safety on site, including inductions, reviewing & amending RAMS, inspections, issuing permits to work, and non-conformance notices.
12. Using the online Information Management System.
Experience
* Proven experience as an Envelope Manager within a modular construction setting, with working knowledge of SFS structures.
* Up-to-date knowledge of building regulations related to cladding systems and fire safety.
* Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
* Experience working with design teams.
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders.
