Job Description

As Event & Group Sales Executive you are responsible for qualifying and closing the sale for all incoming corporate meeting, event and social group enquiries. You will liaise with the prospect by telephone, email and face to face, conducting site visits and building rapport with the client. Working towards conversion targets, you will liaise with the prospect from initial enquiry stage through to signed contract stage, coordinating the final details of the event where required and working with our in-house Event Planner to ensure a smooth transition is provided to the conference operations team.

Responsibilities:

 To qualify incoming meeting and event enquiries (corporate and social) and convert the enquiry into a sale.

 To understand and quote accordingly from the rate demand calendar in order to yield business during busy times.

 Conduct hotel site visits for potential bookings with an aim of closing the sale.

 Ensuring that all enquiries, whether confirmed, lost or refused are recorded in the booking system correctly.

 Undertake chases at 4 weeks / 2 weeks and a week out to ensure all final details are compiled in terms of rooming lists, VIP;s agendas, purpose of
event, menu choices, dietaries are compiled and entered into Opera

 Ensure all billing and payment procedures are adhered to.

 Work with the operational team to ensure any client queries are covered and can be adhered to.

 Understanding competitors and have a good working knowledge of the market place, trends and opportunities.

 To support the overall sales team in achieving and exceeding the M&E budget through a pro-active approach such as contributing to sales blitz days and support with hospitality events.

 Be responsible for creating relevant signage, menus, place cards and table plans where required.

 Taking deposits and pro forma payments from guests, recording them accurately and passing monies directly to the accounts department.
