Job Title: M&E Site Manager - Clean & Waste Water Projects
Location: Various locations from St Asaph, North Wales
(Travel to multiple sites may be required)
Reports to: Project Manager / Contracts Manager
Job Type: Temporary to possible permanent
Job Purpose:
To oversee and manage the mechanical and electrical installation works on clean and wastewater treatment projects. The M&E Site Manager will ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day site activities for M&E works on water and wastewater treatment projects.
* Liaise with project stakeholders including the client, engineers, and subcontractors.
* Ensure compliance with company HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality) policies and procedures.
* Manage and supervise M&E subcontractors and direct labour.
* Coordinate and manage M&E installation activities (pumps, pipework, instrumentation, control panels, etc.).
* Ensure all plant and equipment are installed, tested, and commissioned as per the project specifications.
* Produce and maintain site documentation including method statements, risk assessments, site diaries, and progress reports.
* Monitor progress and ensure works are completed in line with the project programme.
* Assist in procurement of materials and ensure timely delivery to site.
* Attend site meetings and provide technical input as required.
* Coordinate with civil teams to ensure seamless integration of works.
* Manage snagging, handover, and as-built documentation.
Experience and Qualifications: Essential:
* Proven experience as an M&E Site Manager on clean/wastewater treatment projects.
* Experience within UK Water Industry frameworks (e.g. AMP7/8).
* Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in water treatment (pumps, MCCs, instrumentation, pipework).
* Understanding of CDM Regulations and HSE legislation.
* SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
* CSCS card (Manager or relevant discipline).
* First Aid at Work qualification.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Desirable:
* EUSR (National Water Hygiene) card.
* Confined Space Entry Certification.
* Relevant HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
* Experience working with major UK water utilities -Thames Water, Severn Trent, Yorkshire Water,
Skills & Competencies:
* Strong leadership and team management abilities.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting M&E drawings and specifications.
* Good IT skills (MS Office, project planning software).
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and site teams.
* Proactive approach to problem-solving
