Job Title: Senior HR Officer – 12 Month Maternity Cover
Reporting To: HR Associate Director
Job Location: Galgorm
Core Hours: Monday – Friday from 9am-5pm
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per year (dependant on experience) + successful end of temporary contract bonus
About The Role:
An exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic team of passionate HR professionals, the role of Senior HR Officer will allow you to develop strong relationships across the collection, working collaboratively with colleagues and management to drive results for their respective departments and the wider Galgorm Collection.
The HR Department is comprised of a core team of seven passionate professionals who work collaboratively whilst assigned to key areas of responsibility. We’re looking for someone with an innovative approach to staff development and engagement. About The Role
Overview of the Role:
· Ensure compliance with all employee documentation, including contracts and right-to-work checks
· Assist with the implementation of training plans, and the creation of training structures to meet business needs
· Work closely with key contacts such as Payroll and Health & Safety to ensure a proactive response to any arising issues
· Build effective relationships with key stakeholders, working closely with the management team to support the achievement of business goals
· Conduct workplace investigations as required in line with company policies and procedures and best practices
· Implementation of planned strategy in specific areas of the HR Function as created by the HR Associate Director
· Demonstrates behaviours & practices which are aligned with achieving organisational objectives and creating a working environment which inspires, motivates and retains
· Contributing at all times to consistency of approach within the team, with regards to legislative requirements in relation to contracts, working arrangements, policy formation and implementation of terms and conditions
· Actively contribute to the diversity, inclusion and well-being commitment
· Provide advice and guidance to managers on the application of core HR policies and procedures, including performance and absence management, and development planning.
· Ensure the full life cycle of employee experience is representative of the Company’s culture
· Oversee the timely submission of all monitoring reports to the Equality Commission as required
· Assist with implementing initiatives to optimise employee engagement
· Responsibility for the daily HR Function in the HR Associate Directors' absence
· Comply with all PCI & GDPR policies and procedures
Occasional Duties:
· To carry out any reasonable requests by Management
· To attend company in-house and external training programs when required
The Person:
Essential criteria, applicants must:
· Have at least two years’ experience in a similar role
· Thorough, up-to-date knowledge of NI employment law
· Have experience in providing and producing high-quality advice to managers
· Be a strong team player with initiative, strong organisation and communication skills and the desire to succeed
· Have the ability to work unsupervised with a commercial approach
· Have a positive approach to work
· Be solutions orientated
· Have a strong interest in people relations and people development
· Be able to build and maintain strong relationships with department heads and to be seen by all as a credible person
· Be able to demonstrate competence in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Be highly adaptive to a fast-paced role in an ever-changing environment
· Be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a confidential manner with attention to detail
· Be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills
· CIPD Level 5 / working towards CIPD level 5- OR 5 years’ experience in a busy, fast-paced HR Generalist HR role
· A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable criteria;
· Have experience in the hospitality industry
