Job Summary
We are recruiting a reliable and experienced Cook to work in a residential home supporting older people living with dementia. This role requires someone who can prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals and cater for a range of specialist dietary needs.
Key Responsibilities
As the Cook, you will:
* Prepare daily meals for residents, including specialist and modified diets.
* Ensure food is cooked to a high standard, following nutritional guidelines for older adults.
* Maintain excellent kitchen hygiene and food safety practices always.
* Work safely and professionally within a residential care home environment.
* Communicate effectively with staff and residents to understand meal requirements.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
To be considered, you must have:
* A recognised Catering qualification.
* Food Safety Level 2 (minimum).
* Experience cooking for older people or in a care/residential home setting.
* Understanding of special diets (e.g., soft diets, diabetic meals, allergen awareness).
* A clean Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
* Relevant training for working in a care or hospitality environment.
* Reliability, professionalism and a caring attitude.
