Job Function

Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Officer will support the delivery of effective recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations and staff retention processes across the business. The role is key in ensuring compliance, employee development, and a smooth journey through the employee lifecycle.


Job Responsibilities:

· Assist in developing and maintaining up-to-date job descriptions and person specifications.

· Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes, including advertising, arranging interviews, gathering references, making offers, and issuing contractual documents.

· Oversee onboarding processes, ensuring smooth and compliant transitions for new starters, including inductions and right-to-work checks.

· Support the identification of training needs and help managers build development plans.

· Source and book appropriate external training and help facilitate internal training initiatives.

· Develop and implement strategies to improve staff retention, including engagement activities, career development planning, and feedback mechanisms.

· Provide support on employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, and performance issues.

· Offer advice to managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.

· Liaise with Occupational Health and support the coordination of investigations and formal hearings.

· Coach and guide managers to ensure HR processes are applied fairly and consistently.

· Ensure HR practices align with current legislation and meet standards for BRC and SEDEX compliance.

· Contribute to HR projects that promote employee engagement and workforce development.


Required Attributes:

· Previous experience in a HR or recruitment support role

· Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices

· CIPD Level 3 (or working towards)

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

· High level of confidentiality and attention to detail
