As a Site Manager at Story Contracting, you will:
* Proactively manage operations on site
* Build and maintain effective client relationships
* Build and maintain high-performing teams, involving direct Story employees as well as contractors
* Carry out site inspections, accurately record details, and follow through with any actions

The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience in the rail industry, particularly Track Infrastructure projects, is preferred but not essential.
* Manage work fronts in local communities with a positive approach to public interactions.
* Accountable for managing and supervising site teams on rail infrastructure projects across the UK.
* Ensure sites comply with company SHEQ policies and procedures, fostering a strong health, safety, and quality culture, utilizing electronic record-keeping systems.
* Undertake weekly site safety audits and produce a daily diary of site activities.
* Understand the project’s commercial position and program targets, highlighting shortfalls to the Project Manager.
* Ensure materials are procured and delivered, and labor is planned according to the construction program.
* Build close relationships with the wider site team to identify cost savings and efficiencies.
* Maintain high standards of site H&S paperwork.
* Focus on continuous improvement in SHEQ areas.
* Record and report all site returns promptly to the management team.
* Manage subcontract packages and ensure adherence to construction schedules, reporting concerns or delays.
* Hold necessary certifications such as SMSTS, PTS, and First Aid.
* Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and proven team management experience.
* Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
* Work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
