We have an exciting opportunity to support students from Key Stage 2 and 3 in accessing the curriculum and ensuring academic progress. The exact timetable will be confirmed with the class teacher on appointment.
Elmfield Rudolf Steiner School is an independent school located in Stourbridge, 30 minutes from Birmingham, Worcester and Wolverhampton, and only a few minutes from the Clent Hills. We follow the Steiner Waldorf curriculum, providing all-round education for children aged 3-17 years. Our most recent Ofsted inspection rated all areas of the school as "Good".
Responsibilities
* Apply agreed strategies to support students from Key Stage 2 and 3 in accessing the curriculum and ensuring academic progress.
* Maintain records and update the SENDCo with student progress.
* Conduct regular one-to-one work with students, especially those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
* Support identified children within classroom and contribute to classroom activities with all children when appropriate.
* Work with students with complex learning needs including SEMH needs and specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.
* Research relevant conditions, attend training, and foster independent learning.
Qualifications
* Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
* Team player attitude, ability to work independently.
* Willingness to research and attend training to support knowledge and experience.
* Ability to enable independent learning and progress.
