Site Manager - Groundworks
Responsible for managing and delivering civil engineering and groundworks packages safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. Works closely with the Contracts Manager and project team to ensure successful day-to-day site operations.
Responsibilities
* Oversee Health & Safety and Quality standards across all groundworks activities
* Supervise site personnel, operatives, and subcontractors
* Manage the day-to-day running of groundworks and civil engineering works on site
* Plan daily and weekly works, labour, plant, and resources with the Contracts Manager
* Implement and communicate short-term programmes to site teams
* Record site activities and resources, including daily site diaries, allocation and daywork sheets, photographic records, drawing mark-ups and as-built information
* Manage material requests and call-offs, check and collate delivery tickets, and oversee on-site material control
* Coordinate permits, setting-out requests, and planning of groundworks activities
* Deliver daily site briefings and coordination meetings
* Deliver RAMS briefings and provide input to the Contracts Manager for RAMS preparation and updates
* Conduct regular Health & Safety inspections
* Deliver toolbox talks relevant to groundworks and civil engineering activities
* Ensure all daily and weekly site safety and quality documentation is completed, collated, and filed
* Attend site and coordination meetings as required
* Liaise daily with the main contractor and other stakeholders on site
* Identify and report potential changes, instructions, delays or variations to the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor
Requirements
* Proven knowledge and experience in groundworks and civil engineering
* Experience working for a contractor or subcontractor
* Relevant CSCS card
* SSSTS or SMSTS essential
* NRSWA supervisors card beneficial
* Full clean driving licence
* Good people management and organisational skills
