An established and highly respected residential developer is seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead a major new-build housing development in Maldon, Essex.
This is an excellent opportunity to take full operational responsibility for a 291-unit traditional build scheme, overseeing all aspects of site delivery from inception through to completion.
The Role
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day construction activities on site, ensuring the development is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
You will lead a site team that includes two Assistant Site Managers, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and internal departments to achieve key project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
1. Overall management of a 291-unit traditional build housing development.
2. Leading and mentoring two Assistant Site Managers.
3. Ensuring all works are completed safely and in line with company H&S procedures.
4. Driving programme performance and maintaining build quality throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Managing subcontractor performance and site logistics.
6. Conducting regular site inspections and quality audits.
7. Liaising with technical, commercial and customer care teams.
8. Ensuring NHBC standards and building regulations are met.
9. Delivering plots in line with agreed completion targets.
Requirements
10. Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager within volume housebuilding.
11. Track record of successfully delivering large-scale residential developments.
12. Strong leadership and people management skills.
13. Excellent knowledge of traditional build construction methods.
14. Ability to drive production while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
15. SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications are essential.
16. NHBC award-winning experience would be advantageous.
