VAC 541 Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager (SHEQ Manager) Waste/ Recycling Industry. Salary up to £55,000 basic dependant on experience. Ideally Based Manchester area with travel to other local Depots. Company Established for over 20 years, my client is a well-established waste management and recycling company based in Manchester, offering commercial waste collection and waste disposal recycling throughout Lancashire, Manchester, Merseyside and East Cheshire. Boasting over a million collections throughout the NW, along with a recently upgraded modern MRF facility, a fleet of 30 trucks and currently employs over 100 people. Role: Establish, maintain and enforce systems that deliver safety, environment and quality standards. Promote a strong safety culture enforcing policies and acting as required. This is a full time, on-site role for a SHEQ Manager based in the outskirts of Manchester. You need to be a hands-on leader who is comfortable working both in the office and on site with travel to other local Depots Responsibilities * Manage the ISO accreditations for the Company – ISO (phone number removed) * Create Monthly Management Reports and Quarterly Board Reports. * Ensure full SHEQ compliance through audits and regular inspections. * Lead the Annual Management Review meetings. * Completing Action Plans to improve safety across the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) and Transport Operations (excluding Fleet). * Manage supply chain documentation and compliance vetting. * Act as Construction (Design and Management - CDM) point of contact for Construction and Maintenance activities. * Attend customer sites as required to ensure compliance with safety standards. * Monitor Environmental Performance (especially noise, dust, and water courses). * Ensure Waste Carriers and Destination Sites are properly permitted and that permits are held on file * Manage and maintain SHEQ accreditations * Deliver routine toolbox talks. * Ensure Fire Risk Assessments, LOLERS (not trucks), PSSR Inspections, PAT Testing, and Boiler Inspections are carried out across the sites. EXPERIENCE Essential - Waste Industry * 5 years’ experience in a front line HSE role * Experience in developing and implementing safety and quality programs. * Experience in conducting risk assessments and managing incident investigations. * Experience in waste, manufacturing, or logistics context * Production of Management and Board Reports QUALIFICATIONS Essential - Waste Industry * TECH IOSH or higher * NEBOSH Certificate * Knowledge of ISO standards -(phone number removed) KNOWLEDGE Essential * Waste Industry knowledge and / or Logistics and fleet experience. * H&S Legislation * ISO (phone number removed) experience. * Strong knowledge of safety, health environment and quality management systems Additional Package Details: * 20 days holiday plus 8 days Bank Holiday, holiday entitlement increases each year by one day until you reach a maximum of 25 days. * Medicash after 12 months * Bonus after qualifying period * Extra day given off for birthdays.
