Learning Mentor (Full-Time)
Location: CK Assessment, Nazeing
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 4:00pm (with breaks)
Pay: £15.61 per hour
Contract: Term time only (with the possibility of additional hours when required)
Start Date: ASAP or September 2026
HRG are currently recruiting on behalf of CK Assessment who are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Mentor to join their welcoming team in Nazeing. This is a full-time, term-time role supporting students aged 16–19 and some adult learners who are studying towards professional qualifications in Plumbing and Gas Safety.

Their learners are engaged and motivated, and their inspirational lecturers bring valuable real-world industry experience into the classroom.
As a Learning Mentor, you will play an important role in supporting students during lessons, helping them stay focused, confident, and on track with their studies. You will work closely with lecturers to provide both practical and academic support, helping learners build the skills and confidence they need for their future careers in the trade.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide in-class support to students during theory sessions in the classroom and sometimes within the practical sessions in the workshop
Assist lecturers in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
Support individual learners who need additional guidance
Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in students
Help ensure all learners can fully access course content and activities
We are looking for someone who:
Is patient, supportive, and enthusiastic about helping others learn
Works well as part of a small, collaborative team
Communicates clearly and builds positive relationships with students
Is organised, reliable, and proactive
Someone comfortable working in an industrial environment
Ideally someone with experience of SEN young adults whether in a professional or personal capacity

This role is term-time only and runs continuously during each academic term. There may also be opportunities for additional hours where required.

The successful candidates will have to complete the HRG Compliance Process, which is
* In person ID and Proof of Address verification appointment
* Enhanced DBS application - administrated by HRG but at a cost of £65.20 (unless you already hold an enhanced DBS on the update service)
* 2 years of professional/character references taken and verified
* Several Online Training Modules sent out to you to complete
