The Company
Our client is a well funded tech startup that’s developing autonomous systems for a new front. With hugely impressive and record breaking backgrounds the founding team is building a business and range of products that stand out.
The Role
The freelance/interim/FTC Talent Partner will design and structure the talent environment and lead the hiring activities ensuring the organisation can scale effectively while maintaining culture and high levels of performance.
Whilst there are strategic elements to it, this is a ‘’roll the sleeves up’’ position that is focused on the definition and implementation of robust recruitment processes and tools and then hands-on recruiting.
Key Responsibilities - Talent Strategy/Execution
* Partner with the founders and chief of staff to define and prioritise hiring needs
* Actively run end to end recruitment processes to fill critical technical roles: the majority of the roles will be engineering focused (hardware, software and radio frequency (RF))
* Source passive candidates using whatever combination of tools, data, and lateral thinking is necessary and use good judgement in managing active candidate pipelines to secure A player talent
* Build and run structured and inclusive hiring/interview processes to maximise success rates and promote hiring best practices across the business
* Working closely with the chief of staff, manage the offer processes end to end – preparation of offers, delivery, negotiation and closure
* Manage external recruitment agency/executive search relationships where necessary to fulfil niche headcount requirements
* Drive a data-led approach to recruitment, presenting hiring metrics, pipeline health and insights to stakeholders to inform decisions and process improvements
* Acting as a consummate ambassador for the business, continuously improve the candidate experience and elevate the employer brand
The Candidate
Experience
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in end to end recruitment roles - on the agency side or inhouse – including some prior experience of hiring technical profiles (ideally hardware and software engineers)
* Experience in a startup/high-growth technology company in a talent acquisition/recruiter role is vital
* Strong understanding of interviewing best practice
* Deep knowledge of sourcing/ATS/recruitment technologies vital
Capability
* Able to be strategic (credible with and valuable to the founders and investors) but happy to be operational in a hands-on fashion most of the time
* Strong judgement in:
* hiring decisions
* the implementation of frameworks and processes
* how best to represent the business and become a true ambassador
Mindset
* Pragmatic, logical
* Low ego
* Comfortable with ambiguity, innately adaptable, someone who relishes taking on a broad range of tasks
* Self-motivated, happy to take the initiative
Location/Logistics
Our client is situated in rural east Gloucestershire/the Cotswolds. We expect the Talent Partner to be in the office at least 2 days a week in order to build relationships with the team, understand the business and interview candidates in person when needed.
The Talent Partner could join on a contract or permanent basis. The role is likely to be 3 days a week at first. The right person could be employed on a rolling contract, FTC or permanent (part time) basis. It is possible that, as the business grows, the role will become 4 days a week at some point in the future.
