About the Role
Contract type: Full-time, permanent, Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 4:45pm and Fridays 8:30am to 4:00pm
Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 (Dependent on experience)
As HR Officer, you will be a key member of the central operations team, providing day-to-day HR support and guidance across the group. Your responsibilities will include:
* Employee relations: Supporting managers with employee relations matters, including absence management, conduct, performance, disciplinaries and grievances
* Formal processes: Assisting with and attending formal meetings as required
* Absence management: Monitoring sickness and absence and supporting consistent approaches
* Onboarding & induction: Coordinating pre-employment checks, onboarding and induction processes
* Policy & compliance: Supporting the maintenance and implementation of HR policies in line with employment law and best practice
* HR administration & data: Maintaining accurate employee records, HR systems and producing reports to support management decision-making
This role offers exposure to a broad range of HR activity within a varied and fast-moving education environment.
About you
We are looking for someone who brings professionalism, discretion and a collaborative mindset, alongside:
* A degree in Human Resources, Business Management or a related field
* At least 2 years’ experience in an HR Officer or similar HR role
* A sound understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
* Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
* A high level of confidentiality and attention to detail
* Confidence using Microsoft Office and HR systems
Experience within education or multi-site organisations would be advantageous, but not essential.
