Site Manager
Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time
Our client is seeking a high-performing Site Manager to oversee one of their flagship depots. This role offers the opportunity to lead, drive operational excellence, and make a significant impact in a fast-paced, essential industry.
The Opportunity
This is a key leadership position where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will be responsible for the depot's daily operations, including fleet management, driver supervision, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading and motivating the traffic dispatch and site teams to deliver excellent service, safety, and profitability.
* Managing daily operations, optimizing vehicles, drivers, and routes.
* Planning and executing waste and quarry operations, adapting to seasonal and customer demands.
* Ensuring site compliance with health & safety and environmental standards.
* Handling administrative tasks such as payroll, costing, compliance reporting, and performance tracking.
* Managing HR functions including recruitment, training, performance management, and absence control.
* Supporting the mobilisation of new contracts and rerouting strategies.
* Stepping in for the Depot Manager when needed and ensuring smooth handovers.
What Our Client is Looking For
* Proven leadership experience in waste, logistics, or service operations.
* Strong people management skills, preferably in a unionised environment.
* CPC qualification (desirable).
* Good understanding of transport legislation and local geography.
* Experience with regulatory permits and site operating plans.
* Experience in landfill, quarrying, or civil engineering is advantageous.
* A proactive, hands-on management style suited to a dynamic environment.
