Data Architect – Infor SunSystems (UK)

Location: Farnborough, UK
Infor’s Development team is looking for a talented Data Architect to join our UK Farnborough office. You will lead the modernisation of our core data architecture underpinning the multi‑tenant cloud solution for Infor SunSystems.
Key Responsibilities
* Define data architecture, current and future state and strategy for modernisation.
* Coordinate work across the data team, advising and acting as technical authority.
* Provide database expertise and support Development, QA, Consulting Services, Support and CloudOps teams in resolving internal and customer issues.
* Design and build data persistence for the future SaaS product architecture (SQL, NoSQL, database per service, etc.).
* Work with software architects towards zero downtime upgrades.
* Ensure privacy, security, performance, efficiency and high availability are built into the product.
* Collaborate with scrum teams to complete data tasks alongside product development.
* Support customer escalations involving data, assisting investigations and resolution.
* Document and maintain the data landscape in compliance with Infor Secure SDLC and certification (ISO27001).
* Collaborate with DevOps on infrastructure efficiency, cost reduction and high availability.
* Help product and development leadership understand the product’s data scale, future forecasting and capacity.
Basic Qualifications
* Strong experience in data architecture, including historic and modern best practices, gained in a software product development environment.
* Deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases and ability to articulate how different data paradigms can be used.
* Knowledge of stateless architecture and data‑related aspects of achieving a stateless system design.
* Experience with approaches to data privacy, security, performance and availability.
* Experience working in an Agile (preferably Scrum) and iterative development environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Enthusiasm and ability to collaborate well with remote teams.
* Professional pride, drive and curiosity, a diligent self‑starter who keeps up to date with best practices.
* Strong problem‑resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience modernising legacy data architecture.
* Experience with Erwin data models.
* Familiarity with databases such as MSSQL, Aurora/PostgreSQL, DynamoDB.
* Experience with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence).
* Experience with build technologies (source code versioning, e.g., Git) and PowerShell scripting.
* Experience with AWS data persistence and knowledge of DevOps fundamentals.
* Ability to think through large abstract systems and processes, comfortable problem‑solving in complex data environments.
* Customer‑focused mindset, able to understand end‑user requirements and how users work with software.
* Understanding of accounting/reporting/financial applications, BI tools or experience with Infor SunSystems Query and Analysis.
