The De Parys Group is looking to appoint an experienced HR officer to support our organisationon a full-time basis, working 37.5 hours on a fixed term 12 month contract.
The successful candidate will provide accountable HR support across recruitment, compliance, ER, and HR systems, ensuring that the practice meets CQC and regulatory requirements.
The HR officer acts as the first line of professional HR advice for managers and staff, owning responsibility for operational HR processes, audits, and delivery of people services - while escalating complex or strategic matters to the HR manager.
This role is pivotal in supporting organisational resilience as the practice prepares for growth and merger/ TUPE transfer.
Main duties of the job
* Manage the end-to-end recruitment process (adverts, shortlisting, interviews, offers).
* Ensure pre-employment checks (DBS, references, right-to-work, OH clearance) are completed.
* Accountable for ensuring all new starters complete induction and mandatory training.
* Maintain HR systems and records, ensuring files are compliant and inspection-ready.
* Own the training compliance matrix and ensure mandatory modules are up to date across all staff.
* Conduct monthly HR file audits and report findings directly to HR Manager.
* Act as first point of contact for day-to-day ER matters (sickness absence triggers, informal conduct, flexible working requests).
* Provide advice and draft letters/papers for line managers.
* Escalate complex or high-risk cases to HR Manager.
* Assist HR Manager with TUPE processes by preparing documentation, coordinating staff consultations, and tracking data transfer accuracy.
* Accountable for delivering the administrative and communication aspects of the change process.
* Run workforce data reports (turnover, sickness, training) for management meetings.
* Identify trends or risks and flag them to HR Manager.
* Ensure system integrity and timely updates.

Experience
* 2-3 years in HR operations, ideally in a regulated/healthcare setting.
* Experience of overseeing and advising on ER issues at first-line level.
* Experience of HR audits, compliance, and CQC readiness.
* Experience and/ or understanding of TUPE regulations and processes
* Confident decision-maker with ability to balance accountability and escalation.
* Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Resilient, able to handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
