About this Role: Ambitious Senior Site Manager required to work with the team on either a £35m scheme to demolish and build a 4 storey education block. The scheme is secured and on site, with asbestos and demolition underway. The 2nd project is a £50m rapid cell deployment at Isle of Wright prison, these works are currently on site and in the early groundwork's phase Both of these projects are now reaching the stage where they require a Senior Site Manager on site full time. Reporting to the Project Director and Project Manager you will be responsible for managing all site based construction activities for your building/s through your site team, comprising Site and Section Managers. You will have overall responsibility for the construction across your buildings, including long and short-term programming of works, ensuring company health and safety standards achieved, review of method statements, risk assessments, site logistics, quality control, implementation of inspection and test plans, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against programmes, issue resolution, etc, snagging and handover. You be responsible for some ongoing management, training and development of your Site/Section Managers. At the same time, you will be a key part of the senior management team on site, and ideally be demonstrating the potential for future progression toward the PM role. About the Company/Client/Project: The role is with the busy regional Hampshire office of this leading national contractor with a proven track record in the successful delivery of projects ranging from £15m to £50m in the commercial, higher education, luxury retirement, industrial, MOD and MOJ sectors. Geographical patch focus is Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire. Workload is secured on a mixture of national and regional frameworks, competitive tenders plus negotiated works with repeat clients. Turnover for the region is circa £90m to £110m, with a high percentage already secured for next year. With an excellent reputation for training, development, and the opportunity for progression within the business, the business has a very low turnover of staff, and long term career employees in key management and director positions. Requirements including certificates and qualifications: The successful candidate will be highly motivated and proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management and communication skills. A proven track record of 5-10 years of working for and developing within a top twenty main contractor will be advantageous. You will ideally come from a construction management, engineering or trades background, be educated to degree level or similar NVQ level, with a sharp eye for detail and quality throughout. You will be forward thinking and proactive, possessing the ability to plan ahead, identify and resolve issues, work well within a team, see the big picture, with a positive, 'get it right first time' approach. You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role.
