Overview

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Cook to join our culinary team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment. The role is ideal for individuals passionate about food, eager to learn, and interested in pursuing a career in the culinary arts. As a trainee, you will gain valuable experience working alongside experienced chefs and kitchen staff, contributing to the preparation of high-quality meals in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

* Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
* Support the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from senior kitchen staff
* Help with meal assembly and presentation to ensure quality standards are met
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with food safety regulations
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and correctly, reporting any issues promptly
* Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to uphold hygiene standards
* Support the team during busy service periods by efficiently managing assigned tasks

Requirements

* Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
* Previous experience or familiarity with kitchen environments is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
* Understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards
* Enthusiasm for learning new culinary skills and developing a career in hospitality or catering
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work shifts as required
* A genuine interest in meal preparation, restaurant operations, and serving customers

This position provides an excellent platform for aspiring chefs or hospitality professionals to gain hands-on experience while developing essential skills in food safety, meal preparation, and kitchen operations.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £12.21-£14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
