As a Council we have bold ambitions for our City and our people are key to delivering excellent services. We are looking for a hard working individual(s) to join our HR Corporate Support Team, with a focus on delivering HR Support to Sheffield City Council employees, managers and HR colleagues.
We are recruiting 22.2 hours per week permanent as well as temporary roles until 31 March 2027. Applicants interested in part-time and full-time (37 hours per week) are welcome to apply.
The role will require you:
1. To maintain the establishment structure by processing changes as instructed by managers and production of management information.
2. To deal with HR-related queries and request for advice. This will involve mailbox administration.
3. To maintain employee and HR records in line with Council policy and statutory requirements, e.g. file requests and cleansing, employee queries.
4. To undertake employee checks in line with policy and statutory requirements e.g. Disclosure and Barring, Right to work, professional registration, etc.
5. To support management change processes including the collation and co-ordination of information to support management decision making e.g. Chief Officer Panel and applications for early release of pension benefits.
The service handles a high volume of tasks and customer enquiries from employees and managers; you will therefore need to have:
6. Excellent customer service skills
7. Be highly organised, and confident in undertaking transactional processes
8. Able to work at pace and with accuracy.
