Job Summary
The Quality Manager will drive the quality agenda within the Anthony Nolan Cell Therapy Centre, Cord Collection Sites and Cell Therapy & Laboratory Services. They will work with colleagues to maintain compliance with Human Tissue Authority (HTA) and FACT-Netcord standards. Through quality improvement initiatives they will deliver high‑quality services that meet the expectations of customers and the high standards we are driven to uphold. The role involves refining and reviewing the quality management road map, ensuring that colleagues are abreast of compliance requirements and understand their role. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the quality management team of a dynamic organisation striving to improve the lives of patients every day.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement and monitor quality management systems in regulated laboratory and clinical settings.
* Plan and conduct inspections, audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with HTA, FACT-Netcord and internal standards.
* Lead projects such as inspection planning, equipment validation and process reviews.
* Educate staff on quality principles through engaging formats and training sessions.
* Collect, analyse and present quality data to stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
* Maintain up‑to‑date quality documentation and ensure effective change control.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experienced professional in a regulated healthcare laboratory, preferably with processing or stem cell experience.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators.
* Proficiency in auditing, reporting and preparation/presentation of quality data.
* Experience with eQMS preferred; knowledge of Human Tissue Authority and FACT-Netcord regulations.
* Experience in cord blood banking or quality management is a plus.
* Good IT skills, including the use of laboratory information systems.
