Newstaff Employment Services is looking for a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Support / Handyman for our client based in Luton.
This role will involve supporting and assisting with DIY and general maintenance tasks within three properties.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance work, DIY and general trade skills, and have the ability to work well on their own.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems.
2. Carrying out general basic repairs, including carpentry, plumbing and decorating.
3. Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks and repairs.
4. Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
5. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all maintenance activities.
6. Carrying out external/internal window cleaning where and within health and safety regulations.
7. Monthly health and safety audits.
8. Maintaining the grounds, including mowing, flower beds, weeding and pruning.
9. Dealing with deliveries and post.
10. Driving the minibus as required.
Must hold a full UK driving licence
Requirements
11. Previous experience in basic maintenance support and grounds maintenance.
12. Proficient in using hand and power tools relevant to maintenance tasks.
13. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a maintenance environment.
14. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
15. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
16. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
17. Flexible availability to respond to maintenance needs as they arise.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
City & Guilds
Time served apprenticeship
Health & Safety in the workplace certificate level 2 or 3
NVQ in construction
Current First Aid certificate

This role is 40 hours per week. Current hours are 8 am to 4 pm
You will spend 3 days in the Luton office and 2 days carrying out property assessments on site.
Salary: £35, pa + Benefits
